Spring Break Travel 2025
Study Abroad short-term travel opportunity with Dr. Claudia Mesa, Professor of Spanish and Dr. Sandra Aguilar-Rodriguez, Associate Professor of History.
Travel to Mexico with Dr. Sandra Aguilar-Rodriguez and Dr. Claudia Mesa. Travel dates Spring Break 2025.
Food is an essential part of Mexican identity and culture. This course explores Mexican past and present from the perspective of food and foodways by looking at basic staples as well as how cooking and eating has changed throughout time. During spring break, we will visit the capital city of Oaxaca and nearby communities with a diverse and rich indigenous culture. Our travel experience will allow us to understand and live food and foodways in southern Mexico, but also to reflect upon the role food has in our own lives.

We are excited to share, three study abroad short-term travel opportunities with Dr. Carmen Ferrero, Associate Professor of Spanish, Dr. Jenifer Branton-Desris, Assistant Professor of Practice in French and Professor Lynnet Sánchez, Visiting Instructor of Spanish.
Travel to Spain and Portugal with Dr. Carmen Ferrero. Travel dates May 17 - 25, 2025.
Travel to Spain and Portugal, two vibrant countries where tradition lives side by side with 21st century technology. This course, taught in English, will explore how Spain and Portugal, two of Europe's oldest cultures that influenced entire continents, formed as nations. This trip traverses central Spain where participants will visit castles, museums, palaces, and cathedrals to explore historical places in Madrid, Segovia, Avila, and Salamanca. In Portugal, students will explore Aveiro and Coimbra.
