Faculty/Staff Communications
Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and Theological Seminary encourages a spirit of intellectual diversity and freedom. As such, members of the institution are free to express publicly personal and professional opinions through such means as letters, petitions, essays, and interviews with the press.
The publicly expressed opinion of a member of the institution should not, however, be presented in a way that implies that he or she is a spokesperson for the institution on a particular issue. In cases where the institution publicly expressed a position on an issue, the position will be determined by the President and/or President’s Staff and/or the Seminary Dean and communicated through institutional means.
If a member of the institution is asked to issue a public statement on a particular issue, the member should not comment until first consulting with the appropriate member of President’s Staff or the Seminary Dean and with the appropriate member of the Public Relations office.
