BETHLEHEM, PA, April 14, 2022: Today, ˿Ƶ announced that it will hold the annual InFocus Town Hall gathering on Thursday, April 21 @ 7:00 p.m. in Prosser Auditorium on the university’s Main Street campus. The InFocus program at ˿Ƶ is designed to give students the opportunity to help address the most urgent and compelling problems facing human beings and the world. Each year provides an opportunity to focus on a different area of need in the world, and for 2021-2022 that focus is on Health and Justice.
“We’re excited to celebrate this important work done by Moravian students fully in-person this year after two years of virtual-only events,” said Kelly Denton-Borhaug, executive director of InFocus. “Over 300 students from 22 courses representing diverse disciplines are presenting their research findings through interactive google slideshows, and bridging academic research with plans for action and advocacy to address real-world issues affecting all of us and our planet.”
During the Town Hall Students and faculty will discuss some of the best insights from the InFocus breakout sessions held earlier in the month, hear from a select panel of participants, distribute research awards to undergraduate students, and host a festive networking reception for students, faculty and contributors to the InFocus program.
InFocus at Moravian spurs many different ways for students to become involved, to link their academic pursuits with urgent world issues and questions, including:
- Course work
- Student Research
- Faculty Pedagogy and Research grants
- Global Travel Seminars
- The InFocus Town Hall
- The First-Year Summer Reading Program
- Scholars in Residence
- Special Programs and Speakers
- Initiatives with Community Partners
Members of the public are also invited to visit the beginning on April 14. Users can visit the research slideshows and leave comments and questions for student researchers.
