Undecided Major

You’re keeping your mind—and options—open. We support that!

Did you know that many first-year Moravian students come in as undeclared majors? Even if you’ve chosen what you want to study, you likely won’t declare your major until the end of your second year. This provides Moravian students with the perfect opportunity to explore their passions and discover something new. And with more than 70 areas of study to choose from, we’re sure you’ll be busy.

Your Advising Team

˿Ƶ offers a team advising structure that promotes academic exploration, student success, and career support. Before you even begin your first year at Moravian, you’ll be connected with your academic advisor and Career Development Strategist. This will be your personal advising team throughout your time at the university. Your team can help you choose a major, stay on track for graduation, identify possible career paths, find internships, get involved in research and academic opportunities, and more!

Design Your Own Major

Connect with your advising team to design a program of study that combines your passions and career goals. We’re all about discovery here, so take some time to explore your options and expand your horizons. ˿Ƶ will get you where you want to go!

Academic Opportunities

The academic opportunities at ˿Ƶ span far beyond the classroom. Our students have participated in ecological research in Oregon, received Fulbright Fellowships to teach for a year in Spain, and spent their summers interning at Tiffany's & Co. Where will Moravian take you?

Internships

An internship is an opportunity to apply theory to practice. It’s a chance to gain perspectives on what you learn in the classroom and to do some self-reflection. Your Career Development Strategist can help you find the right fit!

Research

Students in all areas of study are encouraged to participate in research and explore their passions at Moravian. Opportunities include the Honors Program, InFocus, and Student Opportunities for Academic Research (SOAR).

Study Abroad

Sophomore year is the perfect time for a study abroad opportunity, or, as we like to call it, a “Global Greyhound Trip.” The Elevate experience includes a trip to one of our featured destinations, like the Czech Republic or Costa Rica, at no extra cost to students!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

1. Get to know yourself.
Reflect on your passions, take some personality assessments, and identify what your strengths are. How will you define success after college?

2. Do a little research.
Check out Moravian’s areas of study—understanding specific majors (and your potential careers) will help you narrow down your options and make informed decisions about your future.

3. Evaluate your options.
Connect with your advising team to discuss your academic goals and extracurricular activities. Your advisors can provide valuable insight into Moravian’s offerings, real-world experience, and life after college.

4. Declare your major.
Once you’ve done your research and met with your advising team, you’ll be ready to declare your major. However, you don’t need to do so until the end of your second year at ˿Ƶ! That's two full years to figure out your path with the help of your Faculty Advisor and Career Development Strategist.
